What is SoftWave?
SoftWave therapy is a unique type of shockwave therapy that can help treat erectile dysfunction without medication or injections. SoftWave therapy delivers short bursts of sound waves to the tissue. These sound waves are delivered to the tissue and cause many changes. The primary changes that we see are an increase in blood flow and an increase in vascularity as a result of the treatment. This increases the ability to get more blood into the region. We also see a decrease in fibrosis and relaxation of smooth muscle. By improving blood flow, erectile function improves without the need for medication or injections.
What does SoftWave do?
The acoustic sound wave helps to improve blood flow. Inadequate blood flow is one of the primary causes for ED. By improving blood flow to the region, we effectively improve erectile function. Most patients noted improved erectile function within the first 2-3 sessions. Some of the studies that have been performed suggest that these benefits can last longer than two years from the time of treatment.

What does treatment consist of?
We follow the SoftWave protocol for treatment of ED. This consists of 6 treatments over a span of 6 weeks. Sessions typically last about 15-20 minutes. The treatment is dosed in shockwaves and the ED protocol includes 2,500 shockwaves per session.
Does It hurt?
While you can feel the impulse of the shockwave, the majority of people do not experience any pain during treatment. At most, some men describe slight discomfort during the treatment.

Is it covered by insurance?
Insurance does not cover the use of SoftWave. This service is provided on a self-pay basis.
